B12/riboflavin deficiency causes this, I have a vet friend who helped me with my chicken!! Look up b12 deficiency and give nutritional yeast plus poultry cell!! My chicken is getting better but it can take up to a month my vet friend said. I hope this helps someone/anyone going through this same thing and trying to save their chicken!! Give it a month and supplement!!

I have a hen that has the same problem. She couldn't walk and was down. I started feeding Amoxicillin in the water and she started walking after a week of treatment. Her appetite is fine. She is still walking after 3 weeks although she is still a bit unstable but improving.

I thought my chicken had Marek's, but the PCR test came back and showed Avian Leukosis Virus. Symptoms for this is often mistaken for Marek's.

I have this happening to me now on a 4 year old girl. Round the clock care for a month now. I think it's a B2 riboflavin deficiency from my research. Giving poulty cell, poultry booster, nutritional yeast, yougert, eggs, oatmeal and ACV as much as i can!

i have a 10 month old laying silkie that this is happening to. she is eating wonderfully, drinking, laying eggs, pooping. everything normal. no cold, no sneezing, nothing. it started in her right leg and now a week later she is not trying to walk at all. they get poultry cell in their food, they get flax seed, oyster shells, they get a lot of scraps from when we prepare food (all fresh). She had just come out of a broody cycle where she was in chicken jail. she was finally outside again and 3 days later, she is not walking. been giving selenium. about to try leg mite treatment only because i have never seen it in my flock before and it cant hurt to try. her scales do look slightly raised compared to her brother.

my lame chicken is finally eating I gave elecrolytes twice in a day, she went to town on the kaleit surprised the heck out of me, i was so worried about her last night at 2 am I went out to check on her and gave her electrolye, and she took it, well, this morning I did it again and she was actually reaching for the dropper before it got to her, my maran is sick but getting better her only symptoms was diahrea and fatigue. but she still had the strength to fight back when some of the chickens tried to attack her (less dominate than her). I am going for that if you give b1 and electrolytes or nutrtional deficiency. I dont believe in germ theory. I am sorry you had to do that, I have had to put chickens down, I hated it more than I hate eating kale. sorry for your loss/trama.

my chicken is doing exactly that right now, I am trying electrolytes ordered nutri drench thought she injuried that leg but I think I am wrong, paralysis? mine stopped eating and she is doing the wing walk too. nutritional defeicney is what I found out it could be vita b1 is a nerve vitamin and could be low minerals?
